Blender

In this Blender section of my website will be stuff about Blender. I have done several blender animations and pictures that can be found from this page and also any tutorials I make. I am rather active with Blender so over time more things will be added.

Tutorial: Getting Minecraft graphics in Blender (Located in its own webpage)

Realistic Minecraft Animation

This is an animation based on Minecraft. The purpose of it was to show Minecraft with improved, more realistic graphics. I modelled and textured and simulated stuff over a week and then rendered it over a day (a full day, including over night). There were problems with it which I later corrected in a second version. The problems included insufficient grass, smoke which was not up to standards and a piece of the world which wasn't covered by dirt or sky. But the worst problems was a sampling method used by Sony Vegas and textures being mapped incorrectly. Before I rendered the animation, I didn't know the textures would move to different places while the camera moved. But it is fixed now in my next version.

You can watch the video below, or skip it and view the updated version instead.

Realistic Minecraft Animation Update

Here is the updated version to the previous Realistic Minecraft Animation. The problems were fixed and a lot of new features were added, mostly post-processing. I added: better grass, different animation, motion blur, glows, bloom, chromatic aberration, lens distortion, lens flares, a sun halo, vignette and camera noise. It is also widescreen now. Although like the last version, after making it I was a bit disappointed as I found more problems. This time the problem was with the animation. I tried to make it better but then after the render was complete I found there were some problems that I didn't know about. I am not sure right now if I am going to make another version of this or leave it and start something new. This is because it just takes so long to render new versions.

Space Station

I had a dream. There was this circular cyan blue space station in the atmosphere that I half-remember seeing. It seemed like there was two circles, one on top of the other, and that they weren't complete circles, only about two-thirds each. I took what I remembered and made it in Blender. I added details that may or may not have been there. I thought there were those spirally arms in the middle but I am not sure what windows or other details were like. I made it spin to make it an animation. In real life, a space station wouldn't work like this but isn't suppose to be realistic.

Nether Portal Animation

When Notch added nether portals to minecraft, some people thought that they would work a bit differently to how they do. They appear to be doorways and doorways are usually walked through. But in Minecraft you just stand in the middle of them. I thought it would be fun to make an animation where they are more like doorways that are to be walked through, like the portals from Valve's Portal. It also gave me experience with greenscreens since I used one to make this animation (Although my greenscreen was actually coloured red!). Set ngal omerum hu těpiakru.

Epic Glass with Explosion Animation

I saw a tutorial by Andrew Price about making a shattered title animation and I decided that it would be easy to do it with a block of Minecraft glass and that it would look cool, so I did and here is the result. I also made the glass refract the light that passes through it.

Minecraft Water Animation

I found a good tutorial at pekaro.de about making about making realistic water. I decided to do it in the Minecraft world. There were a couple of thick lines where the reflection didn't work and I can't figure out why they exist. But here is the video:

Sonic Rainboom Animation

Rainbow Dash is the only pegasus capable of doing a sonic rainboom. A sonic rainboom is awesome so I decided to do an animation of it. There was a problem which I didn't think was a problem until after I made this animation, but the rainboom circles spawned behind Dash, they should have spawned at her front. On Youtube this video is name "Rainbow Dash does a Sonic Rainboom in style", which is a reference to "Rainbow Dash always dresses in style", a quote from the introduction of a previous generation of ponies which would be hilariously innacurate if applied to our actual Dashie.

Minecraft Water Physics Animation

I like to find things in Minecraft which I could make look a lot more realistic, easily, and water physics was something that can easily be simulated in Blender, so I made this animation. Enjoy.
